The meaning of my name 

My name is Nomindari, and my father gave me this name. When I was a child, I didn’t like my name because it sounded too harsh. I thought it was a hard name for a girl. When people called me, I felt uncomfortable, and I wished I had a softer name.

As I grew up, I began to understand the meaning of my name. People started to say, “Wow, that is a beautiful name.” Now, my name doesn’t sound harsh anymore. It sounds feminine and strong. It makes me feel confident and proud of who I am.

My name is a combination of two words, and it has a special meaning in Buddhism and Mongolian culture. “Nomin” means blue or green and can also mean something precious, like a diamond. My name represents beauty, wisdom, and artistic ability. These meanings are important to me because I try to be creative, kind, and thoughtful in my life.

Because of these meanings, my name gives me motivation and strength. It reminds me of women’s power and feminine energy. Today, I am proud of my name. It is part of my identity, and it shows who I am becoming.

Hiding Myself

 Lei Bi           I often hang out and drank with my friends when I was in China, and we not only talked about anything, but also there was nobody offended by us when we talked in English. However, when I arrived the United States, the situation changed. I was so nervous and looked around if there were Americans while who were looking at me because I saying a word in Chinese might make many Americans in general confused.
